The role of General Manager 4 - Food at Rivier University is a pivotal leadership position within Sodexo's Campus Segment. This position involves the comprehensive oversight of all food service and related operations on campus. The General Manager is responsible for ensuring financial performance aligns with company and client expectations while maintaining operational excellence. This entails managing resident dining, retail dining, catering, conference services, and the campus store operations. A strong focus is placed on developing and leading a team dedicated to delivering outstanding hospitality, safety, and service quality.

In this role, the General Manager will serve as the primary liaison between Sodexo and Rivier University partners, ensuring collaborative efforts support the university's strategic goals and enhance the student experience. Key responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, and managing financial performance; ensuring compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards; and developing strategic plans that support campus initiatives. The General Manager will also expand and support summer conference operations, fostering a positive and team-oriented work environment.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Five years of management experience
  • Five years of functional experience in food service
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Strong financial skills
  • Proficiency in Sodexo's operational systems
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to foster teamwork and positive client relationships

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Five years of management experience in food service operations
  • Culinary production knowledge
  • Strong foundation in safety and sanitation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong financial acumen with budgeting and reporting experience
  • Working knowledge of Sodexo Food Management Systems (FMS) and Market Connection (MSC)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing needs
  • Collaborative and student-centered approach to service excellence

Job Duties

  • Oversee day-to-day operations for resident dining, retail dining, catering, conference services, and the campus store
  • Lead, train, and develop a diverse team focused on delivering outstanding customer service
  • Maintain strong client and customer relationships and serve as the primary on-site partner
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance to meet company and client goals
  • Ensure compliance with Sodexo standards, food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety protocols
  • Develop and execute strategic plans that support campus initiatives and enhance the student experience
  • Support and expand summer conference operations from May through August
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment
