Job Description
Sodexo is a global leader in food services and facilities management, with a profound commitment to making a positive impact on the communities it serves. Operating in numerous sectors including education, healthcare, corporate services, and more, Sodexo is dedicated to delivering seamless solutions tailored to the unique needs of its clients. Within the education sector, Sodexo focuses on creating healthy and supportive environments for students and staff by providing excellent food service and nutrition management. The company emphasizes sustainability, community well-being, and quality in all aspects of its operations, making it a trusted partner in K-12 schools across the country.
The General Manager 3 - Food Schools role at Sodexo is specifically designed to support potential new business engagements within the Salt Lake City area, overseeing food service operations across five K-12 schools that serve approximately 2600 students. This leadership position requires a balance of hands-on operational expertise and strategic management skills, ensuring that food service delivers not only high quality and compliance with Sodexo’s standards but also meets the unique nutritional needs and expectations of the school communities it serves. The General Manager is expected to be a visible and approachable leader, able to cultivate teamwork and delegate responsibilities effectively while closely tracking progress and fostering team development.
This role demands a proactive approach to operational management, including the oversight of daily logistics and the delivery of services in alignment with established company and client financial targets. The General Manager will be responsible for cultivating strong relationships with clients and customers, maintaining open communication channels that support strong partnerships and positive service experiences. Strategic planning is a key component of this role, as the successful candidate will develop and execute plans that not only achieve financial objectives but also drive continuous improvement and innovation within the food service operations.
Given the nature of the work, a valid driver’s license is essential, as the General Manager will need to travel between multiple sites. Preference is given to individuals with experience in K12 school nutrition programs, especially those familiar with the National School Lunch Program (NSLP). The ideal candidate will possess culinary production experience combined with a deep understanding of safety and sanitation protocols, ensuring all food services adhere to the highest quality and compliance standards.
Compensation for this role is fair and equitable, determined by the candidate’s experience, education, skills, and training. Sodexo offers a broad spectrum of benefits that promote not just career growth and financial security but also personal wellness and development. The company is committed to fostering inclusive work environments where diversity is celebrated and every employee feels valued and respected.
Joining Sodexo means being part of a mission-driven organization focused on creating better everyday experiences for everyone involved. It is a place where your leadership can directly influence the well-being and academic success of students by ensuring they have access to nutritious and appealing meals. This is more than a managerial role; it is an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the lives of thousands of young learners, supporting their growth and success through high-quality food service operations.
