The Southgate Student Centre in Tallahassee, Florida, serves as a prime example of Sodexo's commitment to excellence in the student housing sector. Southgate is a private housing complex that prepares students for a seamless transition to Florida State University. Operating in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, Sodexo is currently seeking a General Manager 3 to lead and oversee all daily operations for residential dining and catering services. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for directing a team of more than 30 Sodexo hourly associates and managing the overall service delivery to ensure the highest levels of client satisfaction.
Reporting directly to the off-site District Manager, the General Manager 3 plays a critical role in overseeing service operations, managing unit financials including budgeting and reporting, and fostering strong customer and client relationships. The role demands a balance of strategic leadership and hands-on management to maintain operational excellence and continuous improvement in food quality and service standards. The General Manager is also tasked with mentoring managerial staff to support their growth and development, promoting employee engagement, and ensuring operational compliance with company policies and standards.
Candidates for this position should bring at least five years of leadership experience combined with strong financial acumen. The ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and excellent communication skills are essential. Familiarity with Sodexo’s systems is preferred, along with culinary experience, which will help in maintaining high culinary standards and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
