Job Description
Our company is a dynamic and rapidly growing retail management organization operating across multiple districts in Texas. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service, maintaining high operational standards, and fostering a positive work environment. Our focus is on consistent excellence, driving sales growth, and ensuring every store within our network meets strict company benchmarks. The General Manager (GM) plays a pivotal role in our organizational structure, working at the district level to oversee the performance and management of 3-5 District Managers, who themselves are responsible for 15-25 retail stores. This role requires a hands-on leader with strategic oversight abilities, capable of handling complex operational challenges and driving teams towards success and high performance.
The General Manager will be a full-time position based in Texas, requiring reliable transportation to move efficiently between districts and stores. Candidates should be prepared to work over 50 hours per week to adequately meet the demands of this senior leadership role. The GM will act as the key communication conduit between the company’s upper management and district operations, ensuring seamless information flow and execution of strategic initiatives. This role demands strong organizational skills, the ability to oversee multiple teams, and the aptitude to manage both operational compliance and sales targets.
Key responsibilities include conducting routine store and district visits to verify compliance with company policies, performance standards, and cleanliness benchmarks. The General Manager will review and approve personnel status changes such as promotions, demotions, quits, or terminations, carefully managing human resources processes to maintain optimal staffing and operational efficiency. Scheduling assistance and ensuring adequate staffing coverage across districts will fall under the GM’s purview, alongside coordinating other operational logistics.
Effective communication is crucial, as the General Manager will manage group communications across various districts, maintaining professionalism and fostering a collaborative working atmosphere. Regular conferences with Operations Management teams will facilitate ongoing dialogue regarding performance issues, goals, and results, supporting continuous improvement cycles.
The role also involves driving district-wide sales performance, holding District Managers and their teams accountable to established sales targets and performance metrics. Troubleshooting maintenance and service issues promptly and escalating HR or operational concerns ensures operational continuity and adherence to company standards. While these responsibilities represent the core of the GM’s duties, candidates should expect to handle additional tasks that support overall business performance and store network success.
This opportunity is ideal for experienced leaders with strong business acumen, retail operations expertise, and proven capabilities in managing multiple teams within a dynamic, fast-paced environment. We seek a motivated individual with the passion and leadership skills necessary to elevate our retail districts and uphold the company’s high standards.
