Job Description

This job posting is for a General Manager position at a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee of McDonald's, separate from McDonald's USA. The franchisee operates under a license to use McDonald's branding and food products but maintains full responsibility for all employment matters at the restaurant. This means that hiring, firing, staffing, scheduling, and disciplinary actions are fully managed by the franchisee, and McDonald's USA is not involved in these processes. Prospective employees understand that their application information is submitted solely to the franchisee, who handles all employment decisions independently. This independent franchisee is committed to delivering the iconic McDonald's dining experience, known worldwide for its focus on quality, service, cleanliness, and value, while tailoring the approach locally to meet community needs and expectations.

The role of General Manager at this independently operated McDonald's restaurant is pivotal to achieving this mission. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, results-driven, and a strong leader capable of building and motivating a team focused on delivering an amazing customer service environment. This individual will recruit, lead, and develop restaurant team members, including crew, swings, and assistant managers, to ensure consistent excellence in quality, service, cleanliness, and value. The General Manager drives business performance by growing sales, controlling costs, and maintaining high operational standards. Success in this role depends on inspiring people to work collaboratively towards common goals, setting the tone for the restaurant culture, and role modeling company values and behaviors.

Key leadership responsibilities include motivating teams, setting performance expectations, and creating an environment where employees feel engaged and valued. The General Manager also executes local marketing strategies to maximize sales within the community, ensures effective implementation of promotional campaigns and new product rollouts, and manages budgets to meet financial targets, particularly in food, labor, and maintenance expenses. Operational duties include maintaining critical standards for food quality and safety, service speed, restaurant cleanliness, and equipment maintenance. Scheduling and staffing are managed efficiently to align with business demands throughout all day parts, ensuring a seamless customer experience.

In addition, the General Manager enforces security policies, oversees the physical upkeep of the restaurant premises, and fosters employee development through training, performance appraisals, and leadership meetings. This individual also ensures that all employees are educated on relevant labor laws, safety procedures, and company policies. By creating a workplace culture based on loyalty, satisfaction, and pride, the General Manager contributes significantly to employee retention and operational excellence.

This position offers competitive pay ranging from $20.50 to $22.00 per hour, reflective of availability and experience. Beyond salary, the General Manager is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including paid sick and safe leave, paid vacation, education opportunities such as tuition assistance and English language classes through Archways to Opportunity, medical, dental and vision coverage, 401K retirement plans, bonus incentives, free employee meals, uniforms, flexible scheduling, and opportunities for career advancement.
