This job opportunity is with a restaurant that is owned and operated by an independent franchisee of McDonald’s. It is important to note that while this franchisee has the license to use McDonald’s logos and food products, it operates as a separate company and employer from McDonald’s USA. This means that all employment-related decisions, including hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling, are managed solely by the franchisee and not McDonald’s USA. Consequently, any applications you submit go directly to the franchisee and employment matters are handled independently by them.
The position available is for a General Manager role within this franchise-operated restaurant. The General Manager is pivotal in running a profitable and successful restaurant that upholds McDonald’s high standards for quality, service, and cleanliness. This leadership role involves collaborating with higher-level leaders to set ambitious restaurant goals and creating actionable plans to meet or exceed those standards. The General Manager does not work in isolation but leads a team of Department Managers and Shift Managers who each hold specific operational responsibilities.
A key part of the General Manager’s duties is to provide coaching, direction, and support to Department Managers to help them achieve their own goals. By empowering and improving individual departments, the General Manager drives overall restaurant improvement. Hiring and developing a strong leadership team is also an essential responsibility to ensure the restaurant is well-staffed with capable leaders who can sustain growth and continuous excellence.
Ideal candidates for this role will possess previous general management experience, especially in high-volume quick service restaurants. Backgrounds in hospitality or retail are also valued. Candidates must be at least 18 years old to meet employment regulations for managers in corporate-owned or franchise-operated McDonald’s restaurants.
