The franchisee holds a license to use McDonald's brand name, logos, and food products but operates autonomously regarding employment matters such as hiring, firing, staffing, scheduling, and disciplinary actions. If hired, the franchisee—not McDonald's USA—will be your employer, responsible for all employment decisions and workplace management at the local restaurant.
