Job Description

This job posting is for a General Manager position at a restaurant operated by an independent franchisee of McDonald's, not McDonald's USA. This franchisee operates under a license to use McDonald's trademarks, logos, and food products while maintaining complete independence from McDonald's USA as an employer. Therefore, all decisions relating to employment—including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, and employee supervision—are conducted exclusively by the franchisee, and McDonald's USA has no authority or control over these matters. Applicants should understand that their application will be submitted directly to the franchisee and not to McDonald's USA, which does not involve itself in any employment decisions or processes for that location.

The role of General Manager is crucial for the day-to-day operations and overall success of a single McDonald's restaurant location run by an independent franchisee. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, highly motivated, results-driven, and has a strong ability to lead and inspire their team to deliver an exceptional customer service experience. This leadership position involves recruiting, training, motivating, and developing employees, including crew members, shift managers, and maintenance staff, to ensure four key pillars of success—quality, service, cleanliness, and value—are consistently achieved in the restaurant.

In this role, General Managers are responsible for creating and maintaining an environment where employees are engaged and customers have an outstanding dining experience. They act as role models, exemplifying the company’s values and culture, and set the tone for both the restaurant's customer service and operational standards. They possess excellent people skills and leadership qualities that inspire others to perform at their best.

General Managers also play a pivotal role in driving sales and profitability by developing, executing, and monitoring marketing and promotional plans tailored to their local community. They ensure that the team consistently meets or exceeds sales targets and maintains strong control over expenses, including food costs, labor, and maintenance, to maximize profitability. Handling security procedures related to cash deposits and safeguarding the restaurant assets is another important responsibility.

Operationally, the General Manager ensures that all food quality, safety, cleanliness, and sanitation standards are upheld daily. They oversee planned maintenance of equipment to maintain productivity and quality. Their scheduling and labor management skills are essential to ensure the efficient allocation of resources and a positive customer experience during all business hours.

In addition to operations and sales, the General Manager manages all aspects of employee relations. This includes recruitment, hiring, performance evaluations, employee training, and building loyalty and job satisfaction among the team. They lead regular leadership meetings, enforce company policies and labor laws, and foster a positive workplace environment that supports employee growth and retention.

The position offers competitive pay ranging from $20.50 to $22.00 per hour based on experience and availability. Employees also enjoy comprehensive benefits including paid time off for sick and safe leave, paid vacation, medical, dental and vision coverage, 401(k) retirement plans, educational opportunities through Archways to Opportunity programs, bonus incentives, free meals, uniforms, flexible schedules, and career advancement opportunities.

This role is ideal for a strong, hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and who is passionate about driving business success through team development and operational excellence. The General Manager will be the primary employer representative in their restaurant and is key to delivering a memorable McDonald's experience to all guests, making it a rewarding career for those committed to leadership and hospitality excellence.
