Job Description
The McDonald’s Yoon Organization is a well-established independent franchisee group that operates multiple McDonald’s restaurants. Having been in business for over 20 years, this organization prides itself on fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment across all its locations. Unlike corporate McDonald’s restaurants operated by McDonald’s USA, the Yoon Organization is a separate entity that holds the license to use McDonald’s branding and food products to serve its customers. This independence means that the franchisee is the sole employer responsible for all staffing and employment matters, including hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, and scheduling employees. The McDonald’s Yoon Organization is deeply committed to its philosophy of inclusivity and teamwork, captured by their motto "no person or restaurant left behind." Their united approach across their nine restaurant locations ensures that every team member is supported, empowered, and equipped for success.
The General Manager position within the McDonald’s Yoon Organization offers a unique opportunity to lead a thriving restaurant to operational excellence while embodying the company’s values of care, collaboration, and outstanding customer service. Reporting directly to an Operations Supervisor, the General Manager (GM) is a pivotal leadership role responsible for delivering profitable restaurant operations. This includes meeting and exceeding the critical standards of Quality, Service, and Cleanliness (QSC) that define the brand’s reputation. The GM leads a team of Shift Managers and works closely with them to set strategic goals and develop actionable plans that drive the restaurant’s success.
This role demands a hands-on leader with open availability, who is dedicated to cultivating a positive environment for both employees and customers. The GM fosters a culture where respect, motivation, and inclusivity thrive, inspiring each team member to actively contribute and grow within their roles. Key responsibilities also include talent management through hiring, training, and promoting staff, as well as resolving sensitive employee issues with professionalism and fairness. Additionally, the General Manager continuously monitors restaurant performance by leveraging various data sources to identify improvement opportunities and ensure that business plans are clearly communicated and well executed.
Customer service is paramount in this role, with the GM setting the vision for exceptional guest experiences and leading by example in delivering outstanding service and recovery when needed. The General Manager’s business acumen is essential in maintaining accountability for financial and operational targets, demonstrating a positive attitude, removing barriers to progress, and acting with urgency to maintain high standards. Leadership qualities such as composure in high-pressure situations, clear communication, and the ability to drive change effectively are critical to succeeding in this role.
The McDonald’s Yoon Organization values work-life balance and offers a competitive annual salary range of $64,480 to $85,000, complemented by an annual discretionary bonus. To support employee well-being and growth, the benefits package includes medical and dental coverage, paid time off, paid sick leave, college tuition assistance, and a cell phone stipend. The General Manager role is ideal for an energetic and dedicated professional seeking to build a rewarding career in restaurant management within a supportive and values-driven team environment.
