The General Manager position at MV Transportation offers a unique and challenging leadership opportunity for experienced professionals in public transit management. This role demands a dynamic individual who can provide strong operational leadership and strategic direction to an assigned location, ensuring the achievement of all business objectives in compliance with contractual, regulatory, and company standards. The General Manager will oversee daily transit operations, including workforce management, customer service, fleet maintenance, safety programs, and financial performance. This position requires an individual with a comprehensive understanding of transit operations, labor relations, regulatory compliance, and contract management. The General Manager will also act as a primary liaison between MV Transportation and contracting agencies, maintaining positive relationships while striving to exceed expectations. This is a full-time leadership role that involves significant hands-on involvement, strategic planning, and team development to optimize service delivery and operational efficiency at the designated location.

Job Requirements
- College degree or equivalent business management experience
- Management experience required
- Experience with public transit, including fixed route and paratransit
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant supervisory and managerial experience in public transit transportation
- Experience with fleet management including fixed route and paratransit operations
- Labor/union(s) negotiations/expenses expertise
- Full understanding of dispatch, scheduling, driver recruitment, and safety DOT and FTA compliance
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High degree of multi-tasking skills
Job Qualifications

- MS Office, strong analytical skills, strong written and verbal communication skills and high degree of multi-tasking skills

Job Duties
- Ensuring all performance goals are met
- Effective operations design, scheduling, and management
- Maintaining an adequate and competently staffed organization
- Complete and accurate data collection, compilation, analysis, and reporting as required by law and the contract
- Compliance with FTA and other federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
- Professional response to comments and concerns of passengers and the general public
- Effective response to specific requests for other assistance as the need arises
- Attending public meetings at the county's request
- Maintaining a positive employee morale to ensure good working conditions
- Effectively manage customer relations through both direct contact and outreach programs
- Identify, select, train, and mentor location staff
- Effectively and frequently communicate with location staff and support team members
- Oversee vehicle maintenance plan and ensure fleet availability to meet service requirements
- Oversee safety and training programs, plans, and processes to ensure compliance with company, contract and regulatory requirements
- Maintain client contact routinely to meet or exceed expectations
- Conduct periodic departmental audits
- Daily, weekly, and monthly review of key operational metrics
- Ensure that all location financial metrics are managed continuously, exceptions are reported and action plans are developed to ensure the location meets its financial, safety, and operational expectations
- Implement, promote, and adhere to company policies and procedures
- Participate in location(s) labor and employee relations activities
- Provide insight and information to support location(s) contract renewals
- Create and present location(s) annual budget
