The General Manager role at Firehouse Subs is a key leadership position fully accountable for the profitable and efficient operation of a Firehouse Subs restaurant location. As a General Manager, you will lead and inspire a team, ensuring they deliver superior guest service while adhering strictly to company guidelines, health and safety regulations, and operational standards. This role demands a passionate, energetic leader who is committed to fostering a cheerful and fun work environment while maintaining high standards for food quality, cleanliness, and customer satisfaction. The General Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the restaurant’s performance including staffing, training, sales growth, labor and food cost control, and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

This position requires someone who can balance leadership duties with hands-on management tasks, such as cash handling, scheduling, and problem-solving. You must be comfortable working on your feet for extended periods and capable of lifting up to 50 pounds. The role expects strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to effectively analyze and use financial data including profit and loss statements to operate the restaurant at maximum profitability. Firehouse Subs seeks a leader who can build and maintain a high-performance team by hiring, training, and motivating staff members. The General Manager will also actively participate in local restaurant marketing and community outreach to enhance sales opportunities and brand presence.

Job Requirements

  • Able to work on feet for up to 13 hours at a time
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Open availability including weekends and some nights
  • Cash handling skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Top notch customer service skills
  • Ability to lead and develop a strong team

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Ensure restaurant compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations
  • Enforce adherence to Firehouse Subs policies and procedures
  • Lead the restaurant team to deliver superior guest service and maintain high standards of quality and cleanliness
  • Manage restaurant profitability by controlling food cost, labor, and other expenses
  • Implement operations plans and company initiatives promptly
  • Oversee proper staffing and continuous employee training and development
  • Participate in local restaurant marketing and promote Public Safety Foundation initiatives
  • Maintain accurate and timely records, reports, and legal documents
  • Engage with community affairs to boost sales and public relations
  • Represent Firehouse Subs professionally
  • Communicate effectively with the GM/Owner
  • Maintain restaurant equipment and report issues
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Owner
