Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in hotel management or related hospitality leadership role
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate a diverse team
  • Excellent guest service orientation
  • Knowledge of financial management and budgeting
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Must live within a 20-minute drive from the hotel
  • Valid driver's license and proof of insurance
  • Ability to complete certifications such as food handling, CPR, and TIPS within 90 days
  • Compliance with all company rules and regulations
  • Ability to respond promptly to emergency situations
  • Physical ability to perform job duties including lifting over 50 lbs
  • Must be available to work varied shifts in a 24/7 operation

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or related field preferred
  • Proven experience in hotel management or similar leadership role
  • Strong understanding of revenue management and sales strategies

Job Duties

  • Be readily available and approachable to all guests
  • Ensure that departments achieve or exceed the guests service expectations
  • Take proactive approaches when dealing with guest concerns
  • Extend professionalism and courtesy to guests at all times
  • Communicate all goals and results with associates
  • Ensure all employees complete departmental checklists, and are correct and filed
  • Know the guests scores of the hotels
  • Lead and train team members to respond and take ownership of guests needs
  • Promote teamwork and associate morale
  • Lead by example demonstrating self-confidence, energy, and enthusiasm
  • Motivate and encourage your staff to solve guest and associate related concerns
  • Recognize good team performance through reward and recognition
  • Foster and motivate subordinate supervisors with continuous training and leadership
  • Conduct weekly management meetings and monthly department meetings
  • Promote empowerment
  • Develop cross-training opportunities throughout the hotel
  • Assist assistant general manager and team leaders in understanding GSS results
  • Post daily revenue to budget and GSS scores for review
  • Complete required brand training and assist team leaders
  • Perform employee reviews annually and provide ongoing service training
  • Ensure thorough and timely orientations for new team members
  • Achieve budgeted revenue and profit goals
  • Comply with corporate accounting procedures
  • Maximize revenue through brand systems and company revenue manager
  • Develop and implement annual budget and marketing sales plans
  • Use M3 tools to keep within budgeted financial objectives
  • Utilize sales and marketing reports to implement selling strategies
  • Oversee all accounting functions including accounts payable, receivable, payroll
  • Implement hotel participation in corporate national sales and marketing programs
  • Communicate competitive market conditions to supervisors and managers
  • Review brand inventory controls and selling strategies daily
  • Solicit new business continually for the hotel
  • Monitor group block and direct bill processes
  • Network to assist sales in uncovering new business leads
  • Ensure Guest Service Representatives understand hotel selling strategies
  • Stay current on conditions in community
  • Update forecasting reports for following year's budget
  • Maintain rapport with competitors, clients, and community
  • Remain active in community functions
  • Perform and train excellent guest service
  • Implement, provide, and promote a safe working environment
  • Inspect all departments for sanitation and cleanliness
  • Implement preventative maintenance and deep cleaning programs
  • Become certified in food handling, CPR, TIPS training within 90 days
  • Coordinate suite care programs
  • Attend brand related meetings, conferences, training seminars
  • Teach scheduling tool usage and staffing budgeting
  • Ensure cross-training of all associates
  • Pass all brand and internal audits
  • Ensure hiring practices comply with I-9, ADA and EEO requirements
  • Use discussion forms constructively for associate concerns
  • Maintain licenses and permits
  • Complete knowledge of company manuals and brand standards
  • Maintain high standards including passing all audits and programs
  • Schedule management team coverage including weekends and evenings
  • Pursue additional personal development
  • Conduct reviews timely with input from supervisors
  • Perform any other duties assigned by regional director
  • Maintain valid driver's license, proof of insurance and pass as approved driver
