In this role, crewmembers must manage a variety of equipment and supplies, including tables, chairs, tents, and grills, and ensure their proper use and storage.

The General Maintenance Crewmember must coordinate effectively with different departments to deliver supplies and furniture as needed while also operating college vehicles safely. The role may extend to assisting with the relocation of offices and supporting grounds maintenance. The physical demands of the job require the ability to lift heavy items, perform tasks involving bending, kneeling, and climbing, and work outdoors year-round. The safety and compliance aspects are critical, requiring adherence to all safety and work regulations and proper handling of machinery and chemicals.

This is a hands-on, physically active role suited for individuals who enjoy working both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment. The job includes some flexibility in working hours, including after-hours and weekends for special events, ensuring that the college's events and functions run smoothly and efficiently. Candidates need to possess a valid Florida Driver's License and demonstrate the ability to engage effectively with diverse campus constituents. Job Requirements

  • Completion of the 10th grade or equivalent
  • Significant relatable experience may substitute formal education
  • Prefer high school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of three years experience in relevant labor or groundskeeping work
  • Ability to read and understand English written instructions
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License and maintain it throughout employment

Job Qualifications

  • Completion of the 10th grade or equivalent
  • Minimum of three years experience as a laborer, gardener, groundskeeper or similar general labor duties
  • Ability to read English sufficiently to understand written work orders and safety instructions
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse constituents
  • Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License

Job Duties

  • Scheduling and timely set-up for all college functions
  • Maintenance and utilization of the inventory of tables, chairs, tents and grills
  • Delivery of supplies and furniture in a timely manner to all requesting departments
  • Operation of college vehicles to deliver supplies and furniture
  • Coordination of the relocation of internal offices
  • Compliance with all safety and work rules and regulations
  • Preserve punctual and reliable attendance
