The role of General Laborer / Material Handler at Jensen Metal Products is a vital position supporting the company’s laser cutting operations. This role demands a detail-oriented individual responsible for efficiently and safely removing finished parts from laser-cut metal sheets, accurately verifying these parts against work orders and production documentation, and maintaining precise counts. The successful candidate will ensure that parts are sorted, staged, and delivered promptly to the relevant production departments, helping maintain a smooth workflow throughout the manufacturing process. Beyond physical handling, the position includes entering production and inventory data into the company’s ERP system, facilitating effective communication with laser operators, production personnel, and supervisors, and ensuring a clean, organized, and safe work environment. The General Laborer / Material Handler is crucial in identifying and reporting any quality concerns, defects, or damage, with a strong commitment to the company’s high-quality and safety standards. The role operates during the 2nd shift, Monday through Thursday from 3:30 pm to 2:00 am, with occasional overtime on Fridays. A shift premium of $1.50 per hour is applied for 2nd shift hours, reflecting the company’s recognition of the demands and value of this schedule. Job Duties

  • Remove (de-nest) laser-cut parts from metal sheets safely and efficiently
  • Verify parts against work orders, prints, and production documentation
  • Ensure part counts are accurate and properly documented
  • Identify and report quality concerns, defects, or damaged parts
  • Sort, stage, and deliver material to the appropriate departments
  • Maintain material flow throughout the manufacturing process
  • Enter production and inventory data into the ERP system (Global Shop)
  • Communicate effectively with laser operators, production personnel, and supervisors
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Assist with inventory control and material handling activities as required
  • Follow all quality, safety, and company procedures
