Residence Inn by Marriott is part of Marriott International, a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry. Marriott International is committed to providing equality of opportunity, creating a welcoming and inclusive work environment, and promoting diversity among its associates. Residence Inn specializes in extended stay accommodations, offering spacious suites with fully equipped kitchens, catering to both business and leisure travelers. The property is known for its warm, personalized service and legendary culture centered around meeting the unique needs of long-term guests. Located at 321 E Huntington Dr, Arcadia, California, the Residence Inn by Marriott facility presents an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to join an established hospitality brand with a strong commitment to team collaboration, guest satisfaction, and career development.
The role available at this Residence Inn by Marriott is a full-time, non-management position in the Engineering & Facilities category, offering a competitive hourly wage of $24.20. The job primarily involves carrying out planned preventive maintenance in guest rooms, meeting rooms, and public spaces to ensure all areas are maintained to high standards. Responsibilities include inspecting and servicing mattresses, box springs, and bed frames, vacuuming behind and underneath furniture, removing carpet and upholstery stains, dusting, touching up paint and furniture, ensuring all room accessories and appliances are present and functioning, replacing lighting fixtures, and checking grout and caulking. The role also requires performing minor repairs such as tightening loose toilet seats, changing light bulbs, and filling holes in walls.
In addition to maintenance duties, this position entails thorough cleaning of all guest room surfaces, including bathtubs, tiles, floors, walls, windows, and mirrors. The maintenance technician must report any significant maintenance issues, unusual findings, or safety hazards immediately to the manager or supervisor. The job demands strict adherence to company safety policies and procedures, including participation in training and certification programs to ensure workplace safety. Associates are expected to maintain a neat uniform and professional appearance, respect confidentiality rules, and protect company assets.
Interacting with guests in a professional manner according to company standards is a key part of this role, with a focus on anticipating and fulfilling service needs promptly to enhance the guest experience. Teamwork is emphasized to build positive working relationships and contribute to achieving common goals. The position requires physical tasks such as stretching, bending, twisting, crouching, moving and lifting objects up to 50 pounds independently, and assisting with heavier items. Employees should be prepared to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods during shifts and perform other reasonable work duties as assigned.
This role is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals with less than one year of related work experience and requires a high school diploma or equivalent, such as a General Educational Development (GED) certificate. No supervisory experience or special licenses or certifications are needed to apply. Residence Inn by Marriott values all backgrounds and complies with federal, state, and local laws regarding nondiscrimination, including consideration of applicants with criminal histories.
Joining Residence Inn by Marriott means becoming part of a global team dedicated to delivering extraordinary guest experiences while developing your own professional skills in a supportive and culturally diverse work environment. This role offers stability, skill development, and the chance to contribute to a respected brand that prides itself on service excellence and a positive employee culture. If you are committed to quality maintenance work, guest satisfaction, and being part of a collaborative team, this opportunity at Residence Inn in Arcadia, California can be the next step in your hospitality career journey.
