Job Description

Marriott International is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, known for its commitment to excellence and guest satisfaction. As one of the largest and most respected hotel companies worldwide, Marriott operates a diverse portfolio of brands, including Courtyard by Marriott, which is specifically designed to meet the needs of business travelers. Courtyard focuses on providing guests with a comfortable, convenient, and productive environment, making every stay enjoyable regardless of the purpose of travel. Marriott International embraces a culture of inclusivity and diversity, fostering an environment where associates feel valued and empowered to grow both personally and professionally. The company emphasizes the importance of teamwork, continuous learning, and delivering an exceptional guest experience, all while maintaining a fun and supportive workplace.

The role of a Guest Room Maintenance Technician at Courtyard by Marriott involves performing scheduled preventative maintenance and minor repairs in guest rooms, meeting rooms, and public spaces to ensure that all areas meet high standards of quality and functionality. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the overall appearance, safety, and comfort of the hotel environment for guests. The Technician is responsible for tasks such as inspecting and flipping mattresses, assembling bed frames, vacuuming, dusting, spot cleaning carpets, and upholstery, as well as performing minor repairs including tightening loose fixtures, changing light bulbs, and patching walls. Attention to detail is critical, as the role requires ensuring that all hardware and appliances in guest rooms are present and operational. The Technician also performs general cleaning of various surfaces within the guest areas, including tubs, walls, floors, mirrors, and windows.

Safety is a key priority in this role, with the Technician expected to follow all company safety and security protocols, report any accidents or unsafe conditions, and complete necessary safety training. The role demands physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted, assisting with heavier objects, and engaging in activities that require bending, twisting, and stooping. The ideal candidate is someone who is a team player, eager to provide outstanding guest service, and dedicated to upholding the quality standards set by Courtyard and Marriott International. While this position does not require supervisory experience, it is well-suited for individuals with less than one year of related work experience who possess a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn and develop skills in hotel maintenance and guest service. Marriott International offers an inclusive work environment where associates from diverse backgrounds come together to achieve common goals and create memorable experiences for guests. Joining Courtyard by Marriott means becoming part of a global community dedicated to excellence and continuously striving to be the best version of oneself.
