Air Liquide Electronics provides innovative electronic materials designed to meet the evolving needs of high-tech industries, including semiconductor manufacturers. They specialize in ultra-pure carrier gases, specialty gases, and advanced precursor molecules, along with equipment for safe gas distribution, purification, and online purity control. Air Liquide's services include comprehensive onsite management of these gases and equipment, with a focus on continuously improving production processes for their customers. The company is known for its commitment to quality, safety, and environmental standards, supporting technologies and processes that drive advancements in mobility, connectivity, computing power, and energy efficiency. Based in Phoenix, AZ, this opportunity is situated at Air Liquide's gas plant to support a key semiconductor manufacturing site.

The Gas Plant Production Technician role at Air Liquide in Phoenix, AZ, is a critical position focused on the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex gas production systems. This includes steam methane reformers, CO2 purification systems, high purity helium systems, and various support systems crucial for the semiconductor manufacturing process. Working as part of a team, the technician ensures the 24/7, year-round delivery of high purity gases to a central utility plant with high operational standards.

This role requires a dedicated professional to monitor plant systems for abnormalities and respond to alarms or abnormal indications promptly. Responsibilities include providing on-call support for the various gas production and delivery systems, working collaboratively during repair and equipment start-up activities, and preparing systems for maintenance following strict safety protocols. The technician also participates actively in the site's Safe Work Permit program, conducting functional testing of equipment before customer acceptance, and maintaining accurate historical records of maintenance and repairs.

Air Liquide values diversity and inclusion, creating an environment where all employees can contribute their unique perspectives and skills. The company offers a competitive wage ranging from $30.00 to $35.00 per hour along with a comprehensive benefits package that supports the whole life of its employees. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, and disability insurance, a 14-week paid childbirth benefit, 401(k) retirement plans with company match, tuition assistance, paid holidays, vacation, and sick time. Remarkably, benefits start on day one to provide immediate support for new hires.

The ideal candidate has at least six years of technical training or operations experience and a high school diploma or GED, with an associate technical degree preferred. Candidates should be able to handle shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and hold a valid driver’s license. Knowledge of instrumentation, rotating equipment, piping systems, and regulatory requirements such as Process Safety Management and EPA regulations is essential. Skills in computer use, especially with Google and Microsoft software, and experience or certification in operating forklifts, man lifts, and overhead cranes are highly valued.

This position requires strong communication skills, a self-motivated attitude, and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams to solve complex problems. The technician will occasionally support other plants in the U.S. during turnaround, outage, and commissioning events, which may involve travel. Physical demands include the ability to wear necessary personal protective equipment, lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, work on elevated platforms, and operate in non-conditioned environments. Confined space entry for inspections and work is also part of the role.
