Job Description
Domaine SF is recognized as San Francisco's premier grazing board and catering operation, specializing in the creation of visually stunning, meticulously composed cheese, charcuterie, and canapé spreads for private events and corporate clients throughout the Bay Area. The company prides itself on transforming simple ingredients into exquisite culinary art, emphasizing exceptional quality, thoughtful presentation, and an unforgettable dining experience. As a respected name within the local food scene, Domaine SF caters to a diverse clientele, including upscale private events, corporate gatherings, and special celebrations, making each spread an artisan masterpiece. The company values creativity, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence, which are evident in every product and service they offer.
The role of Garde Manger / Prep Cook / Charcuterie Artisan at Domaine SF presents an exciting opportunity for culinary professionals passionate about artisan food preparation and presentation. Available in both part-time and full-time capacities, this position offers flexible scheduling options to accommodate different lifestyles. Part-time shifts include early morning or evening slots of 3-4 hours per day for five days a week, while the full-time schedule runs Tuesday through Saturday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Working within a small, focused kitchen team, the successful candidate will be integral to maintaining the kitchen's operational flow, ensuring the quality and beauty of every grazing board and spread. The role demands strong communication skills, punctuality, meticulous cleanliness, and a keen eye for detail.
Candidates can expect to engage in a variety of tasks including preparation, labeling, and proper storage of ingredients such as fruits, vegetables, meats, and cheeses. The position requires exceptional knife skills and a strong aesthetic sensibility, critical for creating the intricate and artistic grazing boards that Domaine SF is known for. Experience in professional kitchen settings, particularly in garde-manger, catering, or fine dining prep work, is highly preferred. Independence and the ability to manage one's own time effectively during shifts are essential, as is a current California Food Handler's Card or the willingness to obtain one. The role also involves maintaining kitchen cleanliness and organization, adhering strictly to hygiene and safety best practices, and contributing as a team player willing to perform tasks such as sweeping floors and washing dishes when necessary. Good listening skills and a proactive approach to communication ensure clarity and smooth kitchen operations.
Located in the Dogpatch neighborhood of San Francisco, Domaine SF offers a dynamic work environment for culinary artisans who appreciate quality, craftsmanship, and collaboration. Those interested in joining this innovative team are encouraged to apply by sending a brief note detailing their background, references, and availability to the provided contact email. This role not only provides a platform for culinary growth but also an opportunity to be part of a company that celebrates the art of food presentation and the joy of creating memorable culinary experiences.
