Horizon House is currently seeking an enthusiastic and courteous Garage Attendant/Parking Valet to join its team. This role is critical in ensuring a positive first impression for all residents, guests, and employees by providing exceptional customer service in a welcoming manner. The position is based on a union pay scale with an hourly rate ranging from $21.74 to $24.65, with an additional $1.00 per hour shift differential for evening shifts. The standard work schedule for this role is Fridays and Saturdays from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm, with Sundays through Thursdays off.

In this position, the Garage Attendant/Parking Valet will play a vital role in managing the flow of vehicles safely and efficiently within the Horizon House parking facilities. Responsibilities include greeting guests warmly, issuing valet tickets, maintaining cleanliness and order in the garage and valet office, and ensuring that all vehicles are handled with the utmost care and respect. The job also involves the safe operation of vehicles with experience in both manual and automatic transmissions preferred. Beyond vehicle management, attendants may assist with loading and unloading resident and guest vehicles and provide elevator assistance when requested by residents, guests, or management. This role requires good teamwork, communication skills, and a passion for supporting a community-oriented environment.

Job Requirements

  • A valid Washington State driver license in good standing
  • Driving history clear of major moving violations and accidents
  • One year of experience in a valet/parking attendant and/or customer service position or a related field
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation

Job Duties

  • Greet guests with a warm and professional demeanor in accordance with Horizon House core values
  • Safely park and retrieve vehicles
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the garage and valet office
  • Ensure all vehicles are handled with care and respect
  • Issue valet tickets for vehicles belonging to guests, visitors and employees
  • Ensure that all who park in the garage are charged accurately
  • Assist with loading and unloading resident and guest vehicles
  • Provide assistance to the elevators if necessary and as requested by residents, guests or management
