The role of Gaming Support Technician or Midway Technician at Dave & Buster's is essential in maintaining the high standards that guests expect when they visit. The position involves the repair and maintenance of the facility's gaming equipment, simulators, and other technical systems, ensuring the midway area remains in optimal condition at all times. Responsibilities include performing routine and preventive maintenance, addressing technical issues quickly to minimize downtime, and assisting guests directly by providing competitive game recommendations and resolving equipment concerns. These technicians also manage ticket stock in redemption games, keep the gaming area clean and organized, and maintain the merchandise displays to boost guest traffic and sales. Beyond technical tasks, the job requires excellent guest service skills such as greeting visitors warmly, communicating effectively with team members and managers, and ensuring guests leave satisfied and eager to return. A typical day for a Gaming Support Tech is varied and fast-paced, combining hands-on technical work with customer service duties. Candidates are expected to work flexible hours including days, nights, and weekends, and often perform physically demanding tasks like lifting equipment, climbing ladders, or standing for long periods. While technical or electrical skills are preferred, the company provides training for those motivated to learn. Overall, this role is ideal for individuals who enjoy problem-solving in a lively environment, have a passion for gaming and technology, and thrive when engaging with guests to create memorable experiences.
