Job Description

The Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) is a pioneering sports league committed to delivering world-class hockey competitions by bringing together the best female hockey talent across the globe. As a professional women’s hockey organization, the PWHL focuses on not only elevating the quality of the sport but also creating meaningful connections between players, fans, and local communities. The league operates with a steadfast dedication to operational excellence, purposeful partnerships, and sustainable growth, ensuring a vibrant future for women’s hockey. The PWHL fosters a culture rooted in integrity, innovation, and inclusion, valuing diversity and equity within its workforce and fan base alike. This approach helps the league to stand out as a leader in sports entertainment and community engagement, both on and off the ice.

The Game Presentation & Fan Experience Manager role at the PWHL is a dynamic leadership position central to crafting memorable live event experiences during the team’s home games and other special events. Reporting directly to the Director of Business Operations, this manager is tasked with executing a comprehensive strategy that supports the league’s mission of engaging fans through high-energy and seamless in-venue entertainment. The position carries an annual salary range of $70,000 to $77,000 USD and offers an exciting opportunity to apply expertise in live event production within a rapidly growing and impactful sports league.

In this role, the manager oversees every aspect of game-day presentation, from writing run-of-show documents and public address scripts to managing a diverse game-day team that includes control room operators, announcers, DJs, and hype teams. Strong collaboration with various departments such as hockey operations, social media, broadcast, and content teams is essential to ensure that all elements—including video, lighting, and audio—are tightly integrated and aligned with league branding standards. Additionally, this role encompasses coordinating production logistics, managing service contracts and payroll, and overseeing the fan experience operating budget to maintain fiscal discipline while maximizing entertainment value.

Candidates for this position must be adept in leading large-scale event productions, motivated by a passion for sports entertainment, and experienced in managing staff under live event pressures. Flexibility for hybrid work arrangements and a willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed are key. Beyond technical skills, this role also calls for a creative mindset, strong organizational abilities, and a commitment to fostering inclusive environments. The PWHL values integrity, respect, and collaboration, ensuring that all employees contribute positively to the league’s ongoing success and cultural growth. This is a unique opportunity to shape the fan experience at a leading organization dedicated to empowering women in professional sports.
