Job Description

The Athens Rock Lobsters are a professional minor league hockey team based in Athens, Georgia, also known as the Classic City. The organization is recognized for its high-energy, fast-paced, and creative approach to professional hockey and entertainment, providing fans with an unforgettable live sports experience. The team takes pride in cultivating a vibrant culture that embraces enthusiasm, creativity, and a commitment to fan engagement, making each home game a distinctive, exciting event for the local community and hockey enthusiasts alike. The Athens Rock Lobsters serve not only as a competitive sports team but also as a hub for fun and dynamic community interaction, where the thrill of rink-side action meets engaging entertainment and fan-centered promotions. This is an opportunity to join a team that values innovation, passion, and an energetic spirit in a community-centric professional sports environment.

The team is currently looking to hire a versatile and dynamic Game Presentation & Production Manager who will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of game-day presentation and operations at home games hosted in Akins Ford Arena. This role combines strategic planning with hands-on creative execution, offering an exciting hybrid position that involves managing live entertainment, game presentation technology, and fan engagement activities. The ideal candidate will be a "dual-threat" - skilled both in graphic design to create impactful visuals and in technical proficiency to operate live switcher/control systems during games. They will lead the production of all game presentation elements, including promotions, theme nights, partnership activations, and in-game entertainment components such as lighting, sound, video, and mascot performances.

Beyond the creative aspects, this role demands high operational responsibility, requiring the individual to supervise the entire in-arena game operations, coordinate and manage game-day staff, and collaborate closely with corporate sales, sponsorship teams, and event management personnel to ensure flawless execution of fan experience programs and sponsor engagements. The position requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to handle live event pressures, and a flexible schedule to accommodate nights, weekends, and holidays aligned with the game calendar. The candidate will also act as the primary liaison with the arena and select league personnel regarding game-night activities. This role is well suited for professionals with a background in minor league sports, college athletics, or live event production who have experience working with production software such as Daktronics Show Control, Click Effects, and Ross Xpression. Those with strong graphic design skills in Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Photoshop and Illustrator, and familiarity with motion design or video editing software such as After Effects or Premiere Pro, will find this position especially fulfilling. Applicants should be locally based or eager to immerse themselves in the Athens community, contributing to the team's mission of delivering a best-in-class professional hockey and entertainment experience.
