The Fundraising Manager for Walk to End Alzheimer’s role is a full-time exempt position based in Lexington, Kentucky, with a compensation package offering a salary range between $55,000 and $65,000 annually, with a performance-based incentive opportunity of up to $13,000. This role reports directly to the Development Director and involves overseeing and managing multiple peer-to-peer fundraising events, including the Lexington and Ashland chapters of Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Walk to End Alzheimer’s is recognized as the world’s largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research and ranks as the second-largest peer-to-peer fundraising event in the United States. It continues to grow rapidly, engaging community members and corporate partners through inspiring events that emphasize volunteer empowerment and community involvement.

In this role, the Fundraising Manager will serve as a key leader responsible for strategizing and executing plans to recruit, train, and manage volunteers to meet and exceed established revenue and team goals. This involves building and nurturing sustained partnerships with corporate sponsors, community leaders, and volunteers while ensuring adherence to Walk to End Alzheimer’s best practices. A significant aspect of the position includes traveling up to 50% within the Central Kentucky territory to engage stakeholders, support event logistics, and foster community relationships. As a confident, goal-oriented self-starter, the Fundraising Manager must demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and proficiency in communications and social media management. Additional responsibilities include managing budgets, timelines, marketing and public relations, event logistics, and ensuring compliance with association standards. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years of volunteer recruitment and mobilization experience
  • Preferred peer-to-peer fundraising or sales experience
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Commitment to equity and inclusion
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% by car within Central Kentucky
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Ability to lift and transport up to 25 pounds
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and social media
  • Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, good driving record, and auto insurance

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in recruiting and mobilizing volunteers to achieve goals
  • Preferred experience in peer-to-peer fundraising or equivalent sales background
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal and external partners
  • Demonstrated skills in forming and developing corporate relationships and partnerships
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in managing volunteer teams with diplomacy
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned territory
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and social media platforms
  • Ability to learn fundraising software such as Luminate/Convio

Job Duties

  • Manage all aspects of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s events in Lexington and Ashland, Kentucky
  • Recruit, train, coach, and manage volunteers to achieve revenue and team goals
  • Build relationships with volunteers, participants, sponsors, community leaders, and corporate partners
  • Develop volunteer committees, team recruitment and retention strategies, budget, timeline, marketing/PR, logistics, and best practices implementation
  • Prospect, cultivate, and steward teams, sponsors, and walkers through volunteer networks to meet development goals
  • Execute volunteer participation plans to achieve fundraising goals by retaining and attracting new teams
  • Maintain relationships with key corporate sponsors and constituents to ensure ongoing involvement and recognition
  • Organize outreach activities with the volunteer planning committee to promote the Alzheimer’s Association mission
  • Ensure adherence to Walk to End Alzheimer’s event standards
  • Participate in advocacy and public policy activities as needed
  • Represent the Alzheimer’s Association at public events, conferences, and media
  • Manage Walk-specific social media platforms including Facebook groups
  • Engage in professional development and learning opportunities
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
