The Full-Time Team Lead role within the dietary department at the McCandless location is a pivotal position responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, food safety, and exceptional service quality. The successful candidate will supervise hourly associates, ensuring compliance with UPMC’s policies and departmental standards, while also managing inventory security and cash revenues. This role demands leadership in orienting, training, and coaching team members, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Shift schedules include early morning and evening shifts, with work on every other weekend and holiday, indicating a dynamic work environment that supports patient care around the clock. Job Requirements

  • HS Diploma/GED preferred
  • 2 years relevant experience required
  • Act 34
  • Obtain Servsafe or Professional Food Safety Manager Certification within 6 months of hire date

Job Duties

  • Supervise hourly associates and their adherence to all UPMC policies and procedures and department standards and guidelines
  • oversee security of inventory and cash revenues
  • orient, train, and coach new team members as per department guidelines
  • monitor all aspects of the department's food safety program routinely and take immediate and appropriate action to identified hazards
  • supervise services according to department standards and complete quality control and quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies
  • perform routine competency checks on associate performance with appropriate follow-through
  • conduct and document service recovery on all customer complaints as per operational guidelines
  • monitor food quantity and quality to ensure appropriate product is available for meal service according to menu and special requests
  • monitor all aspects of the operation's sanitation program on a daily basis to ensure inspection readiness at all times
