The position available is an Hourly Store Lead role starting at $13.00 per hour. This role is vital in ensuring that the store operates smoothly and that every customer enjoys a WOWplace shopping experience. The Store Lead is responsible for supporting and training crew members to deliver exceptional customer service following the B.E.S.T. customer service standards. You will oversee daily store activities including managing associates’ performance, handling receiving and merchandising processes, and stepping in as the Manager on Duty when necessary. Additionally, the role requires managing store opening and closing procedures to maintain operational excellence and security. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong leadership and communication skills, and can maintain composure under pressure while multi-tasking effectively.

Further responsibilities include driving sales performance through optimization of merchandising and staff efforts, maintaining store cleanliness and organization, and supporting the onboarding and continuous training of new associates. The position requires physical activity such as moving merchandise, climbing ladders, and staying upright for significant portions of the shift. Candidates should be flexible for varying shifts including day, evening, weekend, and occasional overnight hours. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • at least 1 year of management experience in retail or related field
  • strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • creative problem-solving skills
  • capacity to stay calm and composed in high-pressure situations
  • ability to frequently operate cash register
  • physical ability to move merchandise up to 25 lbs and reach heights of 5-10 feet
  • capable of climbing ladders and performing physical tasks involving kneeling, bending, twisting, and stooping
  • strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with customers, managers, and coworkers
  • flexibility to work varied schedules including days, evenings, weekends, overnight shifts, and occasional travel
  • ability to follow printed and email instructions regarding store operations
  • ability to remain standing for 80 percent of the shift duration

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Ensures all crew members are wowing the customer through personal contact with customers
  • trains the crew on the B.E.S.T. customer service experience
  • ensuring that each guest has a fast, friendly check out experience
  • helps oversee the daily activities of all store associates, ensuring they are performing their duties effectively and providing excellent customer service
  • assists with the receiving, unpacking, and organizing of new stock to ensure items are quickly and efficiently placed on the sales floor
  • acts as manager on duty when needed, taking full responsibility for store operations, staff management, customer service, and addressing any urgent issues
  • manages the entire process of opening or closing the store, which includes securing cash, locking doors, setting alarms, and ensuring everything is in place for a smooth daily operation
  • supports the onboarding and ongoing training of associates, helping them learn store policies, product knowledge, and operational procedures to improve their performance
  • drives store sales and controls expenses: actively seeks ways to boost sales by optimizing merchandising, staff performance, and customer service
  • partners with the entire store leadership team in merchandising procedures and world recovery
  • performs store maintenance including but not limited to taking out garbage, sweeping, cleaning bathrooms, maintaining stock room
