As a store associate at ALDI, you will play an essential role in ensuring the smooth operation of the store while enhancing the customer's shopping experience. This full-time position offers an average of 30 or more hours per week with a starting wage of $18.00 per hour and structured wage increases over time to reward dedication and skill development. Specifically, wage increases include $18.50 in Year 2, $19.00 in Years 3 and 4, and $20.00 starting in Year 5.

In this role, your responsibilities will include merchandising and stocking products to maintain an inviting and organized store appearance, cashiering using the point-of-sale system to support efficient checkout processes, and performing routine cleaning tasks to ensure the store looks its best. You will work collaboratively with the ALDI team by following detailed merchandising planograms designed to maximize sales potential and maintain zone standards. Additionally, you're expected to complete curbside pickup orders, verifying items accurately and ensuring timely delivery to customers' vehicles, thereby supporting evolving consumer needs.

Model customer service principles by engaging with customers courteously and professionally, addressing their concerns promptly, and escalating any issues to store management when necessary. Your commitment to operational efficiency will be critical, as you assist management in controlling losses from expired or damaged products, adhering to inventory and cash handling procedures, and helping achieve total loss goals.

Physical demands are an integral part of this role and include pushing, pulling, bending, lifting up to 45 pounds, and working in varying temperature environments such as freezers and coolers. Operating equipment like cash registers, electric and manual hand jacks, floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers is also required. These tasks ensure the functionality and safety of the store while supporting excellent service delivery.

Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years old required
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred

  • Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service
  • Ability to operate all store equipment such as cash registers, floor scrubber, cardboard baler, pallet jacks, handheld devices, computers, etc

Job Duties

  • Model and fulfill all customer service principles and escalate concerns to store management as necessary
  • Inform store management of loss due to outdated or damaged products
  • Properly utilize the point-of-sale (POS) system to accurately scan and process customer purchases and inform store management of scanning concerns or errors
  • Adhere to cash policies and procedures
  • Follow the line policy and open additional check lanes as required to ensure an efficient checkout
  • Stock shelves and displays neatly while following merchandising planograms to maximize sales
  • Complete curbside pickup orders by accurately retrieving items from the store, verifying order contents, and ensuring timely delivery to customers' vehicles from the staging area
  • Maintain zone standards and merchandising standards at all times
  • Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency goals
  • Assist store management in achieving total loss goals
  • Comply with all established company policies and processes
  • Support store management in providing a safe working environment by identifying and rectifying hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and maintaining equipment in proper working order
  • Adhere to inventory procedures and product handling guidelines
  • Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards
