The Store Associate position at ALDI offers a full-time opportunity with an average of 30 or more hours per week, starting at $17.50 per hour, along with progressive wage increases based on tenure. This role is pivotal in maintaining the inviting atmosphere and operational efficiency of the store by handling merchandising, stocking, cashiering, and cleaning duties. As a Store Associate, you will be the face of ALDI to customers, delivering exceptional service while supporting the store's daily functions and merchandising goals. You will work collaboratively with the ALDI team to ensure shelves are stocked according to planograms, checkout lanes operate efficiently, and the store remains clean and safe.

In this role, your responsibilities will include accurately scanning and processing purchases using the point-of-sale system, adhering strictly to cash handling procedures, and opening additional checkout lanes as needed to reduce wait times. You will also assist with curbside pickup orders by retrieving items, verifying order contents, and ensuring timely delivery to customers' vehicles. Maintaining zone and merchandising standards is a continuous priority to maximize sales and customer satisfaction. Health and safety compliance within the store is critical; you will work with management to identify hazards, maintain equipment, and promote ergonomic practices. This role requires physical stamina and the ability to lift and stock products weighing up to 45 pounds, operate various store equipment, and work in diverse temperature conditions including freezers and coolers.

Job Requirements

  • at least 18 years old required
  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior work experience in a retail environment preferred

Job Qualifications

  • ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service
  • ability to operate all store equipment such as cash registers, floor scrubber, cardboard baler, pallet jacks, handheld devices, computers
  • ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures

Job Duties

  • model and fulfill all customer service principles and escalate concerns to store management as necessary
  • inform store management of loss due to outdated or damaged products
  • properly utilize the point-of-sale system to accurately scan and process customer purchases and inform store management of scanning concerns or errors
  • adhere to cash policies and procedures
  • follow the line policy and open additional check lanes as required to ensure an efficient checkout
  • stock shelves and displays neatly while following merchandising planograms to maximize sales
  • complete curbside pickup orders by accurately retrieving items from the store, verifying order contents, and ensuring timely delivery to customers’ vehicles from the staging area
