Job Description
Argonaut Hotel is a distinguished boutique hotel located in the vibrant heart of San Francisco's iconic Fisherman's Wharf. This luxury establishment captures the true essence of boutique hospitality, nestled within the historic Haslett Warehouse, a grand building dating back to 1907 known for its exposed brick walls and Douglas Fir beams that tell a story of San Francisco's colorful Barbary Coast past. Guests at Argonaut Hotel are treated to breathtaking views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island, making it a premier destination for travelers seeking both comfort and scenic charm. The hotel is complemented by the family-friendly Blue Mermaid Restaurant & Bar, providing a relaxed yet refined dining experience that delights visitors from around the world. Argonaut Hotel’s defining characteristics are exceptional service, a distinctive style that blends historic charm with modern luxury, and an inviting atmosphere that makes every stay memorable.
We are currently seeking a talented Sous Chef to join our dedicated Food & Beverage team. This role is pivotal in supporting the Executive Chef by managing the day-to-day culinary operations of this luxury hotel and its associated dining venues. The Sous Chef will oversee all kitchen activities, including managing kitchen personnel, maintaining high standards for food preparation and storage, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality regulations. This position requires a candidate with strong leadership skills and the ability to coordinate food purchasing and labor costs effectively, maintaining approved budgets for both the restaurant and banquet operations. The ideal candidate will have experience working within multiple culinary or food and beverage department head roles, particularly in a four-star hotel or higher rated property. This role offers the opportunity to work in a vibrant, historic setting with a passionate team committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences. The employment type is full-time and includes a competitive salary along with an excellent benefits package that supports the wellbeing and growth of our team members. By joining Argonaut Hotel, you become part of a culture that values individual distinction and collective soul, encouraging creativity, inclusivity, and fun within a professional environment where hospitality is celebrated.
