Job Description
The Fairmont Olympic Hotel, located in the heart of Seattle's downtown, is a distinguished historic landmark known for its iconic architecture and luxurious ambiance. This grand hotel has been a central figure in Seattle's hospitality scene, offering guests an unparalleled experience steeped in tradition and elegance. The hotel is celebrated not only for its timeless beauty but also for its commitment to excellent service, making it a preferred destination for travelers seeking refinement and comfort in one of the city's most coveted locations. As part of the Fairmont Hotels & Resorts group under the Accor umbrella, the Fairmont Olympic carries a legacy of hospitality excellence with a global reputation. This integration allows the hotel to provide its guests with rich amenities and a superior standard of service found across worldwide properties.
The Olympic Bar at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Full-Time Server to join its dynamic team. This role is more than just serving food and beverages; it is about delivering the full Fairmont experience to each guest. As a server, you will be the face of the hotel’s dining experience during dinner service, providing exceptional service in a fun and elegant atmosphere. Your duties will include familiarizing yourself with all menu offerings, including wine and beverage selections, assisting guests with recommendations and special requests, and ensuring the overall quality of service is impeccable. Servers at the Olympic Bar are expected to take part in a supportive team environment where each team member contributes to the guest experience and hotel’s success.
This position offers a competitive hourly wage of $21.30 plus tips, along with comprehensive benefits that support both the professional growth and personal well-being of employees. Benefits include access to an employee travel program with discounted rates at Fairmont and Accor properties worldwide, commuting and parking discounts, and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance for full-time employees and their families. Additional advantages include paid meal breaks with complimentary meals, opportunities for continuing education through Fairmont Academies, and a 401K retirement plan with a 4% company match.
Ideal candidates for this role will hold a high school diploma or equivalent and bring to the table at least two years of experience serving in a high-volume restaurant environment, preferably with luxury dining experience. A strong knowledge of alcoholic beverages and wine pairings is essential, as is the ability to communicate effectively and maintain professionalism in appearance and demeanor. Servers must also possess the required Washington State Alcohol MAST Permit (Class 13) and Food Worker Card, be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and demonstrate a passion for creating exceptional guest experiences.
Working conditions require the ability to stand for prolonged periods and occasionally lift items up to 25 pounds. The Fairmont Olympic Hotel values diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity employment as core to its company culture and is committed to maintaining a workforce that reflects these principles. As part of this commitment, all job offers are contingent upon background checks and E-Verify.
Joining the Fairmont Olympic as a Full-Time Server offers not only a chance to be part of a historic hotel but also the opportunity to grow your career within a global hospitality leader while contributing to a meaningful and memorable guest experience. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about hospitality, enjoy teamwork, and aim to challenge themselves in a prestigious, supportive environment.
