We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Server/Host/Hostess for a full-time position, working from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. This integral role focuses on providing exceptional dining service to our senior residents, ensuring they receive timely, professional, and friendly attention during meal times. The Server/Host/Hostess will oversee meal service operations by managing Health Services staff coverage, coordinating meal service shifts, and maintaining a clean and inviting dining environment. Responsibilities include training and guiding staff, managing guest reservations, and handling customer feedback efficiently to uphold Bethesda Senior Living's high standards of care and service.
The position requires strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills to create a positive dining experience in a community setting. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with food production and service
- Knowledge of sanitation and safety standards
- Ability to manage and coordinate meal service staff
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Physical ability to handle objects up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to lift residents with assistance
- Availability to work full-time from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with food production, service, sanitation, and safety
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Compassion and genuine care for the elderly
- Knowledge of hazardous materials guidelines and SDS sheets
- Ability to work in stressful situations
- Commitment to community policies and professional conduct
Job Duties
- Ensures adequate daily coverage provided by Health Services staff and other assigned staff for meal service
- Assists Culinary Services Director with training and instruction on food service policies and procedures
- Attends staff meetings as required
- Ensures all pre-service and post-service work is completed
- Assigns sections and tables to Health Services staff for timely service
- Oversees cleaning and preparation of dining room and tables in restaurant style
- Takes orders for meals and ensures excellent customer service
- Manages guest reservations and ensures Private Dining Room readiness
- Ensures compliance with cleaning checklists and responsibilities
- Maintains confidentiality and professional appearance
- Maintains positive customer service environment
- Performs other duties as assigned
