As a Retail Store Associate & Barista at Lake Champlain Chocolates, you will be at the heart of the company's retail operations, engaging directly with customers to provide an outstanding chocolate experience. This role blends retail sales, cashier responsibilities, and café service into a dynamic position that plays a crucial part in representing the brand in-store. Your daily tasks will include boxing truffles, educating customers about the nuances of chocolate, and preparing specialty items like hot chocolates and ice cream treats. You will receive comprehensive training to ensure you become a 'chocolate expert,' capable of guiding customers through interactive tastings that highlight the uniqueness of the products. Flexibility in scheduling is important, as work hours can vary seasonally and will include evenings, weekends, and holidays to match store traffic.

Your work environment will be engaging and fast-paced, requiring excellent teamwork, communication skills, and a friendly demeanor. Job Duties

Upholds company policies, standards, and philosophy
assists the Retail managers in implementing policies and procedures for the store
maintains a safe work environment
ensures that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining solid product knowledge, and all other aspects of customer service
ensures café customers are served efficiently
maintains proficiency with making all Café items and assists with all café responsibilities
maintains an awareness of all promotions and advertisements
assists in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance, and housekeeping
assists in processing and replenishing merchandise and monitoring floor stock
offers flexibility and availability to work during the busiest times of the year
acquires the information and skills necessary to become a "chocolate expert." Leads guided chocolate tastings
aids customers in locating merchandise
participates in month-end inventory and cycle counts
rings up sales at registers, bags merchandise, and processes product refunds/returns
performs any other tasks as assigned by Retail management
