Job Description
The Lycée Français de San Francisco is a prestigious French immersion college preparatory school located in the Bay Area with a rich tradition of academic excellence and cultural diversity. Serving over 850 students across three campuses, the school fosters an inclusive and international community that embraces teachers, parents, and students from diverse social and cultural backgrounds. The Lycée Française is deeply committed to providing an enriching educational environment that encourages personal achievement as well as academic excellence. The school is recognized for its rigorous bilingual curriculum, dedication to fostering global citizenship, and nurturing a supportive atmosphere where students can thrive both academically and personally.
For the academic year 2026-2027, the Lycée Français de San Francisco is seeking a full-time Receptionist for its Ashbury Primary Campus. This position is a key front-line role responsible for managing the general functions of the reception desk and supporting the smooth day-to-day operations of the campus. The Receptionist acts as a primary point of contact for students, parents, staff, and visitors, providing them with exceptional customer service and assistance. Working 35 hours per week, this role requires professionalism, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask efficiently.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to the school’s values and community spirit, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere from the moment visitors step into the school. As the face of the Ashbury Primary Campus, the Receptionist will be charged with answering phone inquiries pleasantly and informatively, managing visitor screening and security protocols, maintaining an organized and inviting front office environment, and assisting students with personal needs including medical assistance within authorized guidelines. This role involves routine administrative tasks such as data entry in school information systems like Veracross and August, handling incoming and outgoing mail, maintaining logs, typing correspondence, and direct support to families and staff.
This position is full-time, non-exempt, and reports directly to the Primary Principal. Candidates with one to three years of related experience in education are preferred, and the position offers a competitive annual salary range from $71,060 to $73,543 based on experience and qualifications. The Lycée Français further provides an excellent benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid holidays and vacations, long-term disability, and retirement benefits.
The role demands a courteous, tactful, and diplomatic demeanor, with the ability to work cooperatively in a team and independently manage responsibilities. Bilingual proficiency in English and French is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates must be dependable, reliable, and capable of handling routine problems effectively while demonstrating empathy and understanding when assisting children and families.
The Lycée Français de San Francisco is an equal opportunity employer dedicated to fostering diversity and inclusion in all aspects of employment. Successful applicants will undergo a background investigation as part of the hiring process. Prospective candidates are encouraged to apply by submitting a resume and cover letter through the school’s website. This opportunity offers a meaningful way to contribute to a vibrant educational community and engage with families from varied cultural backgrounds in a supportive school setting.
