Job Description
CCS Facility Services is recognized as one of the largest and most trusted building service contractors in the United States. Specializing in comprehensive janitorial and facility engineering services, CCS caters to thousands of commercial businesses across diverse sectors. The company is distinguished by its deep bench of seasoned cleaning and engineering professionals who bring extensive experience and skills to every project. At its core, CCS is a company built to serve, driven by a passionate Service Heart to consistently exceed customer expectations. This commitment to quality and customer satisfaction has solidified CCS's reputation as a leader in the facilities management industry.
As a Porter at CCS Facility Services, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and orderly condition of common areas within office buildings, apartment complexes, and other commercial or institutional facilities. This employment opportunity offers a competitive hourly wage of $17.00, reflecting the company’s commitment to rewarding dedicated and reliable professionals. The Porter position is designed not only to focus on steady upkeep tasks but also to serve as a floater role – providing crucial coverage flexibility by supporting various locations in response to employee absences, scheduled time off, leaves of absence, or special staffing needs.
The role demands a keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to ensuring all common areas present a pristine appearance. Responsibilities include daily and twice-daily cleaning schedules that cover vacuuming, polishing, window cleaning, litter removal, restroom checks, and outside trash receptacle maintenance. Beyond routine maintenance, this role also involves inspection duties to identify and report safety or facility issues such as lighting faults or unauthorized solicitations. The Porter works closely with building engineers and management to assist with the smooth operation of the facility.
In the floater capacity, the Porter must demonstrate flexibility and adaptability, efficiently managing the expectations of various clients and adjusting to differing schedules and locations within the service network. This requires excellent communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to deliver consistent service quality regardless of the assignment. CCS values dependability and punctuality highly, as these traits are essential for successfully managing the varied demands of the role.
The work environment for this position includes exposure to typical facility maintenance conditions, including working near mechanical equipment, handling cleaning chemicals safely, and occasionally working outdoors in varying weather. The company is committed to providing reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job safely and effectively.
CCS Facility Services embodies a culture of growth and community. The company invests in its people by promoting from within and fostering an atmosphere where employees can thrive both professionally and personally. As part of the CCS team, Porters can expect to be supported by a community of dedicated colleagues united by a shared passion to provide the best possible employee and customer experience. This emphasis on a strong, value-driven culture promotes job satisfaction and long-term career opportunities within the facilities services industry.
