This hospital serves a diverse patient population and offers a comprehensive range of medical services, including advanced surgical techniques, specialized medical care, and extensive support programs. The medical telemetry unit within the hospital is key to monitoring patients who require continuous cardiac care and observation, ensuring their safety and recovery through state-of-the-art technology and expert clinical staff.
We are currently seeking a dedicated Patient & Family Concierge to join UPMC Presbyterian's Medical Telemetry Team on a full-time basis, working 36 hours per week primarily during daylight shifts. The role is situated in the 12 North Medicine Telemetry unit, which focuses on providing continuous cardiac monitoring and support to patients with cardiac and related health conditions. This position plays an essential role in maintaining a smooth and positive hospital environment by delivering compassionate services to patients, families, and visitors. The Patient & Family Concierge serves as a welcoming presence within the hospital, assisting with patient and visitor coordination, environmental services, dietary support, patient transport, and supply/equipment management. In addition to these varied responsibilities, the concierge ensures that each patient and guest experience is handled with care, respect, and professionalism from their first encounter through discharge.
The role demands strong communication and multitasking skills, as the concierge coordinates among patients, family members, hospital staff, and various departments. Responsibilities include greeting and directing visitors, assisting with destination coordination within the hospital, managing and restocking supplies, supporting dietary and environmental service initiatives, and empowering patients to navigate their healthcare journey effectively through tools such as telehealth carts. The Patient & Family Concierge also helps maintain cleanliness and organization in assigned areas, promotes patient safety and comfort, and upholds the hospital’s customer service standards and infection control guidelines. This position directly contributes to the overall patient satisfaction and institutional reputation by embodying the core values of UPMC, including courtesy, respect, and service excellence. Working at UPMC Presbyterian offers a unique opportunity to be part of a collaborative healthcare team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care while supporting the well-being of families and the community.
