Hotel San Jose9 is a boutique 40-room urban bungalow-style hotel located on South Congress in Austin, Texas. Nestled behind stucco walls, it offers a lush garden courtyard setting that serves as a peaceful oasis in the vibrant city center. The hotel carries a rich heritage dating back to the 1930s, originally operating as a motor court on South Congress Avenue. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- College degree preferred
- Six months related experience in hospitality or service industry with accounting experience
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals
- Ability to speak effectively before employees or guests
- Proficiency in creating documents using Excel and Word
- Ability to understand Property Management Systems
- Proficiency in math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and algebra using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
Job Qualifications
- Complete all shift checklist and bucket check prior to night audit
- Generate flawless accounting reports within Property Management Software
- Open, secure, and balance all shift banks with transaction verification
- Maintain accuracy in accounting and billing procedures
- Promptly recognize and assist guests during their stay
- Review, correct, and distribute nightly audit packs
- Confidently check guests in and out
- Accurately make hotel reservations following brand standards
- Maintain knowledge of local amenities impacting occupancy and rates
Job Duties
- Deliver exceptional guest experience during overnight hours
- Perform detailed accounting tasks and night audit using Property Management Software
- Generate flawless accounting reports
- Open, secure, and balance shift banks including verification of cash, credit card, and room charge transactions
- Complete and disseminate nightly audit packs
- Check in and out guests professionally and efficiently
- Make hotel reservations accurately following brand standards
- Maintain knowledge of local restaurants, events, and city attractions
- Resolve guest conflicts with effective communication
