We are currently seeking a Rockstar Full-Time Medical Receptionist to join our Loving Care Pediatric Associates family. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about children’s healthcare and want to make a positive impact on their health and well-being. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, playing a vital role in their overall experience. Your responsibilities will include greeting patients warmly, updating demographics and insurance information, collecting payments, and ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed accurately. You will also assist patients during check-out by providing summaries, referral information, and scheduling follow-up appointments. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment.

The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:45 am to 5:00 pm, with every other Saturday from 7:45 am to 12:00 pm. This role requires an individual comfortable with using computer systems and medical terminology, as well as someone who is capable of interacting effectively with patients, providers, and staff. You will participate in staff meetings and help maintain a clean and organized work and waiting area, contributing to the overall efficiency and positive atmosphere of the practice.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred
  • Valid and active driver’s license upon hire and during employment
  • Ability to learn Pediatric Associate procedures, policies, and protocols
  • Proficient grammar, spelling, and verbal skills
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow oral and written instructions
  • Knowledge of computer and medical terminology preferred
  • Ability to interact effectively with staff
  • Excellent customer service and phone skills
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
  • Experience using computer systems including scanner, printer, and fax
  • Must be able to file alpha and numerically
  • Ability to work indoors, stand and sit for extended periods
  • Ability to lift or carry up to 10 lbs
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% to other office locations as needed

  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
  • Experience using computer systems, scanners, printers, and fax machines
  • Ability to file alpha and numerically

Job Duties

  • Check in patients upon arrival, update demographics and insurance information, collect co-pays and patient balances, provide consents for signature and health questionnaires
  • Check out patients, collect additional balances, provide visit summary, specialist referral information, patient portal information, completed forms, and follow up appointments
  • Verify patient insurance through batch eligibility or on demand, contact patients with inactive insurance or inappropriate PCP
  • Post patient charges and payments, complete charge and payment reconciliation
  • Scan and upload documents through the document management system
  • Sort and deliver mail and PA documents received by courier
  • Maintain a clean work area and patient waiting area
  • Participate in staff and educational meetings
