The Maintenance Technician role at The Barclay at Vero Beach AL and MC is vital to sustaining the high-quality living environment that QSL Management promises its residents. This position focuses on ensuring the upkeep and safety of the community's physical environment. Maintenance Technicians use excellent time management and technical skills to perform scheduled maintenance tasks, such as building inspections, paint touch-ups, grounds and pathway clearing, lighting checks, and gutter cleaning. The role requires vigilance in maintaining immaculate and appealing surroundings that contribute to the overall resident and guest experience.

Documentation and record-keeping are key components of this role, as technicians must accurately log maintenance activity for critical systems including fire sprinklers, extinguishers, fire monitoring systems, kitchen hood cleaning, elevator inspections, boiler permits, nurse call systems, emergency backup generators, automobile maintenance, HVAC, and PTAC service. Additionally, the Maintenance Technician assists new residents and their families during move-in and move-out transitions, which adds an important personal touch to the role, directly impacting the comfort and satisfaction of the community members.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Working knowledge of OSHA compliance and laws
  • Construction experience in coordinating building repairs
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record

Job Duties

  • Follow a preventative maintenance program as set by the Director of Facility Management
  • Perform regular paint touch-ups and ensure grounds and building readiness
  • Conduct building and grounds tours to maintain cleanliness and appeal
  • Ensure lights are working properly and gutters are free of debris
  • Maintain clear pathways and remove trash and debris from the property
  • Provide accurate documentation of maintenance records for systems such as fire sprinklers, fire extinguishers, fire monitoring, kitchen hood cleaning, elevator inspections, boiler permits, nurse call systems, emergency backup generators, automobile maintenance, HVAC and PTAC service
  • Assist new residents and family members with move-in tasks during admissions and discharges
