Job Duties

  • Prepares cooking items
  • reports to work well-groomed, in clean and proper uniform and practices good personal hygiene
  • uses, maintains and cleans all kitchen equipment and preparation and storage areas
  • stocks and rotates products to ensure shelf life standards
  • ensures correct portioning, quality and cooking time according to recipes
  • prepares items following food safety and sanitation procedures
  • controls food cost by accurate portioning
  • utilizes FIFO (first in first out) standards
  • maintains cleanliness of kitchen, prep areas, coolers and storage
  • follows safety procedures regarding food handling and storage
  • conducts line sweeps
  • practices clean as you go
  • understands OSHA and health department standards
  • cleans equipment and other areas as directed
  • anticipates, identifies and resolves system breakdowns
  • communicates with Manager on Duty and coworkers about deficiencies and issues
  • informs General Manager and proposes solutions
  • assists team members with prep
  • assists dishwasher with washing and restocking
  • helps maintain dining room cleanliness
  • provides guest service by cooperating with front of house staff
