Job Description

Porters Neck Village is a distinguished senior living community dedicated to enhancing the lives of its residents by fostering a warm, welcoming environment that celebrates their unique stories and experiences. Our mission is to invest not just in senior living but in the people who make it exceptional — including our dedicated employees. At Porters Neck Village, we understand that our strength lies in our team, which is why we are committed to offering opportunities that encourage personal and professional growth while making a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors. Our community prides itself on maintaining high standards of service and hospitality, creating a vibrant culture where every individual — from residents to staff — feels valued, respected, and empowered. We provide a supportive setting where employees can thrive and engage with a purpose beyond traditional employment.

We are currently seeking a hospitality-focused Cook to join our Community Culinary Services Department in a full-time capacity. In this essential role, you will be responsible for hands-on production cooking, ensuring that every meal served aligns with our community’s high culinary standards. This position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $17 to $20, commensurate with your verified experience. As part of the culinary team, you will consistently uphold standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and operational organization. Your dedication to food quality, appearance, and presentation will directly impact the satisfaction and well-being of our residents. You will actively participate in producing and executing menu cycle programs that meet required nutritional and dietary guidelines, helping to create delightful and healthful dining experiences.

Your daily responsibilities will also include assisting with meal service and ware washing as needed, fostering seamless kitchen operations. Engaging with residents will be an important aspect of your role, as you periodically visit to assess the quality, quantity, temperature, and appearance of food service. Your feedback and evaluations will be instrumental in driving improvements that enhance overall quality and efficiency. Through your actions, you will contribute to maintaining a superior level of service and cleanliness while embodying the community’s welcoming spirit. This position is more than just cooking; it’s about representing our community with warmth and professionalism, participating in a culture driven by business decisions and individual engagement aimed at supporting top-line revenue and occupancy.

This opportunity is ideal for individuals who are passionate about hospitality and senior care, thrive in fast-paced culinary environments, and are eager to contribute to a community that values every member. At Porters Neck Village, we live by our Hospitality Promises by greeting everyone warmly by name, treating all with respect, anticipating needs, and responding enthusiastically and promptly. We foster an atmosphere where accountability, diversity, and inclusion are paramount, ensuring that every team member feels important and empowered. If you are ready to join a remarkable team dedicated to enriching the lives of seniors through exceptional culinary services and genuine care, we encourage you to apply today.
