Job Description
Argonaut Hotel is a distinguished boutique hotel nestled in the heart of San Francisco's iconic Fisherman’s Wharf. This luxury property occupies the historic Haslett Warehouse, constructed in 1907, which features exposed brick walls, Douglas Fir beams, and rich seaside character that evokes the colorful history of the Barbary Coast. Renowned for its breathtaking views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island, Argonaut Hotel creates a magical setting that perfectly blends timeless charm with modern amenities. It is celebrated for exceptional service, an inviting ambiance, and an iconic style that makes it an ideal home base for guests exploring San Francisco.
Within the hotel, the adjoining Blue Mermaid Restaurant offers an award-winning dining experience characterized by its cozy, heated wharf-side patio and exposed brick interiors. Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily—with a popular brunch menu on weekends—the restaurant is well known for its outstanding chowders and seafood dishes. The Blue Mermaid embodies the spirit of the local area with a warm setting that welcomes both hotel guests and locals alike.
The Line Cook role at Argonaut Hotel is perfect for passionate culinary professionals who thrive in high-volume, full-service kitchen environments. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and executing menu items to the highest standards of quality and consistency while adhering to established portion sizes and cooking methods. You will maintain stocked line stations that support smooth service flow and ensure cleanliness and sanitation of workstations and kitchen equipment. This position demands multitasking skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic team. Strong knowledge of knife skills, cooking techniques, and food safety protocols are essential.
Beyond cooking duties, the Line Cook contributes to the overall guest experience by ensuring food is presented beautifully and served promptly. Communication with servers to explain menu items and accommodate special requests is critical to delivering excellent service. The role also involves daily cleaning tasks across various kitchen areas, maintaining high standards of hygiene and operational efficiency. The organization values team members who are eager to take initiative and who embrace the freedom to influence the restaurant’s success through their skills and dedication.
Argonaut Hotel offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that reflects its commitment to employee well-being and professional growth. This includes medical, dental, and vision insurance plans, a 401K retirement plan, paid parental leave, pet insurance, paid holidays, vacation and sick days, alongside other valuable perks such as pre-tax commuter benefits, referral programs, educational assistance, uniform programs, and special rates across Noble House Hotels’ properties.
The hotel prides itself on fostering a workplace culture that celebrates individual distinction and collective spirit. Its DEIA (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility) initiatives underscore a dedication to building a welcoming environment where all team members can thrive authentically. Noble House Hotels & Resorts maintains an equal opportunity employment policy, reinforcing that hiring and advancement are based solely on qualifications and job performance, free from discrimination.
If you enjoy being part of a professional and creative Food & Beverage team focused on delivering memorable dining experiences in a beautiful and historic location, this Line Cook position presents an exciting opportunity to grow your culinary career at Argonaut Hotel.
