Job Description
This job opportunity is with a reputable community-focused facility dedicated to providing a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all members and visitors. The organization is recognized for its commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety, and customer satisfaction. As part of its team, you will play a crucial role in preserving the facility's upkeep and ensuring that members have a positive experience, which directly contributes to the organization's overall goals and reputation.
This position is integral to the operations team and involves a variety of maintenance and custodial responsibilities aimed at keeping the facility clean, organized, and compliant with all safety and operational standards. The ideal candidate will be responsible for following established risk management guidelines, adhering to the facility's policies and procedures, and being proactive in identifying safety concerns. This role requires someone who is detail-oriented, reliable, and capable of working independently to maintain the premises in pristine condition.
As part of the duties, you will be responsible for reporting all accidents and incidents promptly using the appropriate forms and ensuring these are filed correctly. You will collaborate closely with supervisors to notify them of any facility or equipment concerns to support a safe environment. Enforcing program rules and policies is essential in maintaining order and a positive experience for all members. Being prepared for emergency situations by having a thorough understanding of the implemented protocols is critical for this role.
In addition to these responsibilities, you will be tasked with routine cleaning of pool and locker room areas, keeping custodial and maintenance spaces organized, and managing supplies efficiently. Seasonal duties such as managing snow and ice on sidewalks during winter are also part of this position, ensuring the safety of all outdoor areas. You will assist in securing outside expertise when tasks exceed your experience level, demonstrating an ability to recognize limitations and maintain safety.
The role requires adherence to OSHA and MSDS standards and the proper use of safety signage, such as wet floor signs, to prevent accidents. Regular replacement of lighting and refilling of dispensers throughout the facility is expected to maintain a pleasant and functional environment. Daily checklists will guide your duties, but flexibility to address additional cleaning needs and support broader organizational initiatives, such as community campaign efforts, will be necessary.
Ultimately, your contribution will directly impact key performance indicators like Net Promoter Scores by ensuring that the association’s premises are clean, safe, and attractive. This, in turn, positively influences member retention rates and promotes a strong sense of community trust and satisfaction. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your efforts significantly enhance the quality and perception of the facility.
