The role of Restaurant Host at Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants is an essential frontline position tasked with welcoming guests and ensuring their smooth experience from arrival through seating. The host serves as the face and voice of the restaurant, offering guests courteous and knowledgeable service both in person and over the phone. Responsibilities include managing reservations, coordinating guest seating, and assisting servers to maintain an exceptional dining atmosphere. Job Requirements

  • Previous customer service or hospitality experience is preferred
  • Able to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Able to learn, retain, and present product, menu and allergy information to guests
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn the restaurant point-of-sale system and reservation system
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • A real passion for hospitality
  • Food Handler Certification if applicable
  • Flexible schedule and are able to work weekends, nights, and holidays when needed

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Greet all restaurant guests and provide knowledgeable information about the area when asked
  • Provide fair and consistent seating of guests
  • Accurately handle paperwork, stock, and tidy the host stand
  • Receive incoming calls and accurately book reservations for guests
  • Take room service orders if applicable
  • Check floor and tables for accuracy and cleanliness, assist in bussing tables
  • Help servers by refilling beverages when needed
  • Perform other restaurant and customer service related requests for guests
  • Take on responsibilities outside of job description as necessary in a dynamic work environment
