The role of Full-Time Healthcare Cook at Cura Hospitality is designed for an experienced cook to work alongside a motivated and energetic kitchen staff at the Shakopee location. This full-time, onsite position involves working various shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends, to ensure smooth kitchen operations around the clock. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, efficient environment, preparing meals that adhere strictly to healthcare-specific menus. They must be adept at cooking food that meets precise dietary restrictions and be capable of pureeing and grinding food as needed for patients requiring modified diets.
This position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $20.00 to $23.00 based on experience and includes a comprehensive benefits package. The Healthcare Cook will be responsible for quality and portion control, food preparation, creative food presentation, kitchen maintenance, proper food storage, and adherence to safe food handling policies, procedures, and recipes. Cura Hospitality seeks a candidate with at least one year of culinary experience in a high-volume establishment emphasizing scratch cooking and previous healthcare cooking experience, ideally in Assisted Living or Long-Term Care settings.
Candidates should have a working knowledge of proper culinary methods and standards, excellent attention to detail, multitasking abilities, and experience with various kitchen equipment. Customer service skills and flexibility are also essential traits. Preferably, candidates will obtain their Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) Certificate within the first month of hire, with support provided by the employer if not already certified. Job Requirements
- Must obtain certified food protection manager certificate within 30 days of hire
- at least one years’ culinary experience in a high-volume kitchen
- healthcare cooking experience preferred
- ability to follow specific dietary menus
- ability to puree and grind food as required
- excellent multitasking and attention to detail
- availability to work mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends
- ability to use kitchen equipment safely and effectively
Job Qualifications
- At least one years’ prior culinary experience in a quality and high-volume establishment with an emphasis on scratch cooking
- previous healthcare cooking experience in assisted living or long-term care
- working knowledge of proper culinary methods, techniques, and standards
- excellent attention to detail and the ability to perform multiple tasks in fast-paced environment
- ability to use various kitchen equipment and tools as well as identify and differentiate food items
