Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement
- Less than 1 year experience using a computer including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
- Less than 1 year experience using common retail technology such as smartphones and tablets
- 1 year retail experience as a cashier
- Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration as may be required by law

- Experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs including credit cards, installations, add-on sales, protection plans, warranties, and product features
- Experience as a head cashier
- Experience working in any Lowe's retail department
- Supervisory experience including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees
- Retail experience detecting common signs of shoplifting.
Job Duties
- Provides SMART customer service at all times through daily execution of Lowe's customer service policies, procedures and programs
- Seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, or loading merchandise
- Listens and responds knowledgeably and promptly to questions by guiding customers through projects and store areas
- Communicates information regarding stock, special orders, product benefits, applications, and warranties
- Coaches, develops, provides feedback, and trains associates in departmental duties or sales opportunities
- Uses a cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds
- Provides proper monetary change to associates for register activities
- Removes security tags, verifies product information, and bags merchandise for customers
- Assists in line vesting to help reduce checkout time and opens additional registers as needed
- Prepares register area at shift start and end by confirming equipment functionality and stocking supplies
- Inspects returned merchandise for damages
- Enters and submits customer orders, prints tickets, verifies receipts, and signs off on loading tickets
- Looks up product information and competitor prices for price match verification
- Records items used in store on store use lists
- Completes cash counting and daily reconciliation duties
- Monitors cash in drawer and cash recycler levels
- Monitors merchandise entering and exiting the store, assists with alarm triggers
- Detects signs of shoplifting, theft, and security risks and communicates to management
- Ensures compliance with housekeeping standards to maintain cleanliness and organization
- Maintains safe and secure work environment including safety reviews, hazard notes, and securing doors and gates
- Adheres to all safety requirements relevant to job duties including top stock safety and use of safety devices
- Operates store equipment such as Zebra phones, paging systems, cash recycler, copiers, CCTV surveillance systems, key cutter, and various department-specific equipment
- Performs other duties as assigned.
