Job Description

Lowe's Companies, Inc. (NYSE: LOW) is a leading Fortune 100 home improvement retailer that specializes in providing high-quality products and services to customers looking to improve and beautify their homes. With over 1,700 home improvement stores, 530 branches, and 130 distribution centers across North America, Lowe's serves approximately 16 million customer transactions per week. The company is headquartered in Mooresville, North Carolina, and employs around 300,000 associates dedicated to making a difference in the communities they serve. Lowe's commitment extends beyond retail by engaging in programs focused on creating safe and affordable housing, enhancing community spaces, supporting the development of skilled trade professionals, and offering disaster relief assistance. This commitment and scale make Lowe's one of the largest and most respected companies in the home improvement retail industry.

This customer service associate (CSA) role at Lowe's is an exciting opportunity for individuals seeking to expand their career possibilities within a Fortune 100 company known for its supportive environment and growth opportunities. As a CSA, you will be the face of Lowe's in providing SMART customer service that meets and exceeds customer expectations. Your responsibilities will include engaging with customers by understanding their home improvement needs, assisting in locating and demonstrating merchandise, and helping carry or load products. You will also play a vital role in educating customers about Lowe's programs, product features, benefits, warranties, and special order merchandise.

The role requires active listening, knowledgeable responses to customer and employee inquiries, and walking customers through projects when necessary to ensure satisfaction. In addition to customer service, the position involves coaching and developing fellow associates, processing sales and returns accurately at the register, and maintaining compliance with safety and housekeeping standards. The CSA is also responsible for store security, monitoring for shoplifting or theft, and reporting such incidents appropriately.

The position offers a great way for individuals with retail experience to advance their careers by gaining expertise in various store functions including cash handling, order processing, product knowledge, and loss prevention techniques. It is essential for candidates to be comfortable with retail technology such as cash registers, smart devices, and store equipment including scanners, paging systems, and surveillance tools.

Lowe’s emphasizes creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful workplace where associates can develop their skills and take advantage of abundant career advancement opportunities. The role encourages continuous learning and participation in coaching, training, and feedback processes that foster personal and professional growth. Lowe's will consider applications from candidates with varying levels of experience, making it an ideal opportunity for people looking to start or continue a rewarding career in retail and customer service within the home improvement sector.
