The role being described is that of a Customer Service Associate positioned within the front-end team of a Lowe's retail store. This is a vital position responsible for delivering SMART customer service aligned with Lowe's customer service policies and programs. The associate engages directly with customers, assisting them in locating, selecting, and handling merchandise while providing knowledgeable guidance on product features, warranty information, and special order procedures. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement if applicable
- Less than 1 year experience using a computer including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
- Less than 1 year experience using common retail technology such as smartphones and tablets
- 1 year retail experience as a cashier
- Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law

- Experience as a head cashier
- Experience working in any department at a Lowe's retail store
- Supervisory experience including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees
- Retail experience detecting common signs of shoplifting
Job Duties
- Provide SMART customer service through execution of Lowe's policies, procedures, and programs
- Seek out customers to understand needs and assist with locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise
- Listen to and respond knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee questions, guiding them through projects when necessary
- Communicate product information including stock, special orders, benefits, application, and warranty related to Lowe's programs
- Coach, develop, provide feedback, and train associates in departmental duties and sales opportunities
- Use cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds according to company guidelines
- Provide proper monetary change for register activities
- Remove security tags, verify product information, and bag merchandise
- Assist in line vesting to reduce checkout wait times and open additional registers as needed
- Prepare register area by confirming functionality and stocking supplies
- Inspect returned merchandise for damages
- Enter and submit customer orders, print order tickets, verify receipts, and sign off on loading tickets
- Look up product information and competitor prices to verify price matches
- Record all items used in the store on store use lists
- Complete cash counting and daily reconciliation duties
- Monitor cash drawer and recycler levels
- Monitor merchandise entering and leaving store entrances and exits and assist with alarm triggers
- Detect signs of shoplifting, theft, and security risks and communicate promptly to management or Asset Protection
- Ensure compliance with housekeeping standards to maintain cleanliness and organization of store and work areas
- Maintain safe and secure work environment, including conducting safety reviews and noting hazards
- Adhere to top stock safety and related safety requirements
- Operate store equipment including Zebra phones, telephones, paging systems, cash recyclers, copiers, fax machines, computers, CCTV, key cutters, panel saws, paint mixers, flooring cutters, compactor balers
- Perform additional duties as assigned
