The role being offered is a Customer Service Associate (CSA) position at Lowe's, designed to provide outstanding customer service while supporting daily retail operations. The CSA is responsible for executing Lowe's customer service policies, procedures, and programs with a focus on delivering SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) customer service at all times. The role entails actively seeking out customers to understand their needs, guiding them through product selection, demonstrating merchandise, and assisting with carrying or loading items as necessary.

In addition to direct customer engagement, the CSA supports various operational tasks including processing sales transactions, returns, and refunds with the cash register, preparing the register area, and maintaining proper cash handling procedures. The position requires knowledge of stock, special order merchandise, product features, benefits, warranties, and application guidelines to effectively communicate with customers and assist them comprehensively.

Key responsibilities also include coaching and training fellow associates on departmental duties, sales opportunities, and front-end team tasks. The CSA is tasked with maintaining store cleanliness, organization, and compliance with safety regulations to ensure a safe and welcoming environment. Monitoring store security, detecting potential theft, and reporting security risks to management or asset protection teams are critical elements of the role. The CSA also operates various store equipment including scanners, cash recyclers, paging systems, and surveillance systems.

This position is ideal for individuals with retail experience, especially those comfortable with cashier duties and customer interaction. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, less than 1 year experience using a computer including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information, less than 1 year experience using common retail technology such as smartphones and tablets, 1 year retail experience as a cashier, ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law

Job Duties

  • Provide SMART customer service through daily execution of customer service policies, seek out customers to understand needs and assist with locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, or loading merchandise, listen to and respond promptly to customer and employee questions, communicate information regarding stock, special orders, product benefits, warranties, coach and train associates on departmental duties and sales opportunities, process sales transactions, returns, and refunds with a cash register, remove security tags and verify product information, assist with line vesting and open additional registers to ensure coverage, prepare register area by confirming functionality and stocking supplies, inspect returned merchandise for damages, enter and submit customer orders and verify receipts, look up product information and competitor prices for price matching, record store-used items, complete cash counting and daily reconciliations, monitor cash drawer and recycler levels, monitor merchandise entering and leaving store and assist when alarms trigger, detect signs of shoplifting and communicate to management, maintain cleanliness and organization by adhering to housekeeping standards, ensure a safe work environment by conducting safety reviews and securing areas, adhere to all relevant safety procedures including top stock safety and use of safety devices, operate store equipment as needed, perform other assigned duties as necessary
