As a part of its ongoing mission to provide excellent service and create career growth opportunities, Lowe's is currently offering the position of Customer Service Associate (CSA) at the front end of its retail stores. The CSA Front End Team member plays a critical role in enhancing the customer experience by delivering SMART customer service consistently in alignment with Lowe's policies and programs. The role involves actively engaging with customers to understand their specific needs, assisting them in locating and selecting merchandise, demonstrating product features, and supporting efficient checkout processes. This position emphasizes hands-on customer interaction through knowledge sharing, product recommendations, and facilitating smooth purchasing transactions.

In addition to direct customer support, the CSA is responsible for coaching and training other associates, safeguarding store assets by monitoring for theft and safety hazards, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. The role demands multitasking capabilities, including use of various retail technologies like cash registers, scanners, and inventory systems, as well as operating specialized equipment as may be needed within certain departments. The CSA is also tasked with performing essential financial procedures such as cash reconciliation and maintaining security protocols.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement
  • Less than 1 year experience using a computer including inputting, accessing, modifying or outputting information
  • Less than 1 year experience using common retail technology such as smart phones and tablets
  • 1 year retail experience as a cashier
  • Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law

Job Qualifications

  • Retail experience as a cashier

  • Experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs including credit cards, installations, add-on sales, protection plans and warranties
  • Experience as a head cashier
  • Experience working in any retail department at Lowe's
  • Supervisory experience including directing, delegating, evaluating, training and coaching employees
  • Experience detecting signs of shoplifting and theft

Job Duties

  • Provide SMART customer service at all times through daily execution of Lowe's customer service policies, seek out customers to understand needs and assist in locating and demonstrating merchandise, listen and respond knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee questions, communicate information regarding stock, special orders, product benefits, applications and warranties, coach, develop, provide feedback and train associates, use cash register to process sales transactions, returns and refunds, provide proper monetary change to associates, remove security tags and bag merchandise, assist in line vesting and open additional registers for checkout coverage, prepare register area at shift start and end, inspect returned merchandise for damage, enter and submit customer orders and verify receipts, look up product information and competitor prices, record store used items, complete cash counting and daily reconciliation duties, monitor cash in drawer and recycler levels, monitor merchandise entering and leaving store and assist with alarm triggers, detect and report shoplifting and security risks, ensure compliance with housekeeping standards and maintain store cleanliness and organization, maintain a safe and secure work environment including daily safety reviews and hazard identification, adhere to all safety requirements relevant to job duties, operate store equipment as needed, perform additional duties as assigned
