Job Description
The Carpenter Hotel is a distinguished hotel located in the vibrant South Austin area, known for its unique blend of lush natural surroundings and modern hospitality. Established in the fall of 2018, the hotel is nestled within an old pecan grove on the edge of Zilker Park, offering guests scenic views and easy access to Lady Bird Lake, downtown Austin, and other local attractions. With 93 thoughtfully designed rooms each featuring a private terrace, the Carpenter Hotel emphasizes comfort, relaxation, and a strong connection to the Austin environment. Travelers can enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool surrounded by a community deck and the Q Hut pavilion or savor culinary delights at Carpenters Hall, the hotel's in-house restaurant, or the all-day Coffee Bar. This South Austin hotel's commitment to exceptional guest experiences and a warm, welcoming atmosphere positions it as a top destination for visitors seeking both convenience and charm.
The Carpenter Hotel is currently seeking a Front Desk Agent who embodies the spirit of hospitality and excels in creating memorable guest experiences. This role is crucial as the Front Desk Agent serves as the first and last impression for every guest, setting the tone for their entire stay. The ideal candidate will be personable, attentive to detail, and capable of thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where each day brings new challenges and opportunities.
As a Front Desk Agent, you will be responsible for a wide range of duties that extend beyond traditional reception tasks. You will manage guest check-ins and check-outs, handle reservations, and provide concierge services which include coordinating transportation, dining reservations, special event details, and various guest requests such as spa services, recreational activities, and in-room amenities. The role demands excellent communication skills, conflict resolution abilities, and a thorough understanding of the hotel's policies and culture to ensure every guest feels valued and welcomed.
In addition to interacting with guests, you will collaborate closely with hotel departments such as housekeeping and maintenance to ensure guest rooms are prepared to the highest standards. The position requires a calm demeanor under pressure, efficiency in managing multiple job functions, and a proactive approach to enhancing guests’ stays by identifying opportunities for upgrades or personalized touches. Being the central point of contact, you will also assist with night audits and financial procedures and maintain an organized and inviting front desk area.
This position is perfect for someone with a genuine passion for customer service and hospitality, who takes pride in their work ethic and reliability. The Carpenter Hotel offers an inclusive environment where employees are encouraged to grow professionally and contribute to the vibrant culture of the company. Employment here means becoming part of a team that values each individual’s role in creating outstanding experiences for guests and fostering a workplace that feels like a community. With a strong focus on employee wellbeing, the hotel provides comprehensive benefits and a supportive work-life balance, making it a place where hospitality professionals can truly thrive.
