The Full-time Culinary Cooking Class Instructor at Taste Buds Kitchen plays a vital role in bringing our vision to life by hosting interactive cooking classes and events. This position is ideal for individuals who have prior culinary experience, a genuine passion for food and cooking, and the energy to engage guests of all ages in a lively and educational setting. The instructor is responsible for planning, managing, and delivering cooking classes that cater to kids, families, and adults in a friendly and professional manner. The role demands excellent organizational skills, the ability to create a positive and safe environment, and strong communication capabilities. This full-time role requires availability including nights and weekends, as we host events seven days a week. Instructors may work solo or lead a team of culinary assistants for larger group events.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One or more years of relevant culinary or entertainment experience
  • Availability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • First aid and CPR certification
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift 45 pounds
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to maintain a safe and clean environment
  • Passion for working in a small business setting

Job Qualifications

  • Prior culinary experience
  • Passion for culinary arts and teaching
  • Ability to engage and communicate effectively with children and adults
  • Experience entertaining groups of kids and/or adults for at least one year
  • Confident public speaking and ability to use amplified voice
  • Formal culinary education or relevant restaurant experience is a plus
  • Formal education or training in teaching, childhood development, or related field is preferred
  • First aid and CPR certification
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 45 pounds
  • Positive, upbeat personality with strong interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Host cooking classes, camps, and parties for children, families, and adults
  • Engage guests by teaching various cooking and baking techniques relevant to the class menu
  • Create a friendly, energetic, and consistent experience for all participants
  • Manage the success of each event from setup to cleanup
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and controlled kitchen environment
  • Provide first aid or CPR treatment when necessary
  • Lead and supervise culinary assistants during larger events
  • Interact positively with guests to guarantee customer satisfaction
  • Maintain flexibility to work nights and weekends
